Why buy pre-owned?

There are a number of reasons why buying a second hand watch makes sense.

Pre-owned watches cost less.
There are a couple of exceptions which prove this rule but it works for 99% of pre-owned watches on the market. As long as you don't compromise on quality and find a reputable company who will deal with any after sales requirements buying pre-owned will always get the most out of your money.

Less depreciation.
Brand new watches depreciate in value the moment they leave the store. After this initial steep depreciation the value of many quality watches will continue to fall but at a much slower rate. As the manufacturer's increase the price of brand new watches some second hand watches will even appreciate. This can mean that you are able to buy an item, use it every day for two years and then get back the same amount of money you originally paid for it. The ability to do this makes a pre-owned watch one of the best working investments available.

Changing your watch isn't as expensive.
The low depreciation costs associated with buying a pre-owned item make it less expensive to rotate your watch or your collection. If you buy brand new then any investigation into the resale value will often leave the owner in a state of shock. Changing your watch in this scenario can often prove prohibitively expensive. The images on the site are always of the actual watch so you can examine the condition of the watch in detail before making a decision.

Reliability
In addition to being refurbished the timekeeping is also thoroughly tested to ensure that the watch is as accurate as it was when it was brand new. We can provide diagnostic printouts to this effect with every watch.

Water resistance
As part of the checks carried out by our service manager we make sure that all watches are water resistant to the original manufacturer specifications. Any parts that need to be replaced in order to ensure this will be fitted as a matter of course.

Warranty
Wherever possible the original manufacturer's warranty will be supplied with the watch. If for any reason these are not available a 12 month watchfinder warranty will be supplied in its place. A minimum 12 month watchfinder warranty covers all pre-owned watches supplied by watchfinder. This means you're covered in the same way you would be by a manufacturer's warranty should the watch develop a fault.
