Watch Servicing & Repairs

Most Automatic watches should be serviced every four to five years. Just like in an engine, if parts are not lubricated correctly, damage can occur. In a watch this can result in damaged parts and eventually the watch will quite literally grind itself to a halt. When a full service is undertaken your watch is fully stripped down into its component parts, just like in the picture below. Each part is carefully cleaned of old lubricant and any other dirt that has worked its way into the watch, and any worn parts will be replaced. The watch is then rebuilt and re-lubricated to the necessary specifications. Any seals and gaskets will also be replaced. The watch will then be tested on our timing machine to ensure that it is telling accurate timing, and in our water pressure testing machine to ensure that it is still waterproof to the depth stated by the manufacturer.

The Servicing and Repair work completed at Watchfinder is carried out by some of the top watchmakers in the country. They have worked for all the major watch houses, including Rolex, Breitling and Tag Heuer. All our work is guaranteed for 12 months.

We can also guarantee that your watch will be back with you sooner (and at a lower price) than if you had sent it to the manufacturer. The majority of watches sent to us for servicing are returned within 3-5 weeks, whereas the turnaround at major watch manufacturers can take 2-3 months - more than twice as long.
