TechnoMarine watch history

Founded in 1997, TechnoMarine watches is renowned for having revolutionised the watch industry. This began with the introduction of TechnoMarine's very first watch, the Raft.

TechnoMarine's Raft was a chronograph watch on a transparent plastic strap. Such was the popularity of the TechnoMarine watch Raft that TechnoMarine sold 50,000 models of the watch in the first year.

Not only did the company draw in big sales with the TechnoMarine watches Raft, but it also created a whole new category of luxury fashion watches. TechnoMarine had manufactured a style of watch that the industry had never seen before.

The company paved the way for a new generation of fine timepieces, which developed even further in 1999. In a move that much of the watch industry labelled as "insane" and even "sacrilegious", TechnoMarine married plastic with diamonds - incorporating the prized stones within the TechnoMarine Raft's rotating bezel. Combined with the interchangeable gel strap of the diving chronograph watch, the decision resulted in the TechnoDiamond. In terms of the combination of materials, TechnoMarine had produced a world's first for watches.

Although the industry had doubted TechnoMarine's bold move to change watch design, it was immensely popular. The watch was so popular that it in fact sold more than 150,000 models, and thousands of imitations were created.

It is a fine example of TechnoMarine's core aim - to embody the best that the life, sea and land have to offer, and expressing the founder, Franck's, experiences. It is this that has led the name TechnoMarine to become synonymous with creativity and individual style amongst the watch industry, which is typically renowned to be largely conservative. However, TechnoMarine delivered a burst of fun and sophistication.

When it came to 2003, the company once again brought something new to the watch world. This was the year TechnoMarine launched its Maori line, with a signature triangular-shaped case and striking tribal design.

In 2004, TechnoMarine then followed on from its latest watch arrival with even more technically challenging and artistically inspiring lines and industry firsts. These included TechnoMarine's first exclusive Tourbillion models and the sophisticated watches in TechnoMarine's Colour Ceramic Collection.

With the recent introduction of a high-end watch line, RoyalMarine, the TechnoMarine watch collection now offers a range of products to meet an ever-expanding global consumer base. And all watches are executed in TechnoMarine's signature combination of luxury, fashion and fine watch-making.

Since its beginnings, the company has developed a strong presence in 50 countries. Much international recognition directly followed the launch of the revolutionary TechnoMarine TechnoDiamond watch and it quickly became a favourite with celebrities. Among those known to purchase TechnoMarine's stylish lines are Madonna, Barbara Streisand, Lenny Kravitz, Sharon Stone, Ringo Starr and Arnold Schwartzenegger.

This strong celebrity interest, and subsequent exposure, pushed the consumer demand for the watches beyond the existing retail supply. Production went into overdrive and sales of TechnoMarine watches skyrocketed into the tens of millions virtually overnight.

To date, TechnoMarine's line of watches has continued to grow to encompass more than 110 individual styles, with distribution expanding across six continents.
